Malala Yousufzai 15yo Schoolgirl & Activist From Pakistan Shot In Head By Taliban Leaves Hospital
It seems the girls in Pakistan are just hardcore like that I guess, but all joking aside it really is a shame that a girl, 14 at the time of the incident was shot in the head because she had the audacity of promoting the education of women in Pakistan. USA Today writes:
LONDON – Malala Yousufzai, the schoolgirl and women's rights activist from Pakistan who was shot in the head by the Taliban and subsequently flown to the United Kingdom for treatment, has been discharged from Birmingham's Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the hospital said Friday.
Yousufzai was discharged on Thursday, but will be re-admitted in late January or early February for reconstructive surgery to her skull, the hospital said.
"Malala is a strong young woman and has worked hard with the people caring for her to make excellent progress in her recovery," said Dave Rosser, medical director of the Queen Elizabeth Hospital. "Following discussions with Malala and her medical team, we decided that she would benefit from being at home with her parents and two brothers."

Paul Ryan And 66 House Republicans Want To Refuse Hurricane Sandy Victims Insurance Claims
Conservatives were trying to make the vote to increase the National Flood Insurance Program’s borrowing authority by $9.7 billion about the debt, but in reality they actually were voting to pay the approved claims of Sandy victims who had purchased flood insurance. According to the AP, “The bill gives more borrowing authority to the National Flood Insurance Program to pay about 115,000 pending Sandy-related claims as well as about 5,000 claims unrelated to Sandy.”
The victims who filed these claims paid their premiums as participants in the National Flood Insurance Program. These individuals and businesses weren’t looking for free government money. They only expected to made whole by their insurer who had approved their damage claims. This vote had nothing to do with disaster relief. The vote was about carrying out a legal obligation to those who paid their premiums and had their claims approved.
In short, Paul Ryan and 66 other House Republicans tried to ripoff Hurricane Sandy victims by voting to not pay their approved flood insurance claims.
I don't know what to say about this. It seems like OccupySandy has been the only group in America giving any concerted effort to help these victims in New York. I watched the same thing happen in Louisiana when Katrina hit it. Whole Foods Market was I believe the first outside organization assisting Louisiana during the first week; FEMA came in after the fact and seemed to cause more harm than good according to the residents. Why will the US government spend trillions of dollars freely on national defense (mainly money put overseas policing foreign nations) but haggle and try to weasel their way out of giving money rightfully owed to legitimate victims of it's own nation?
Here is Republican Huelskamp speaking on the issue. Keep in mind when you watch this that this money is owed to people paying into insurance, perhaps they should determine what a "legitimate disaster" is and get back to us.

Steubenville Covers For Its High School Football Stars/Rapists, Anonymous Strikes
New information has been leaked about the Steubenville football rape incident by Anonymous following the recent defacement of rollredroll.com by a subcell of Anonymous by the handle of Knightsec. They've even have a disclaimer up right now due to the defacement denouncing any claims made against them.(click for full size)
Alexander Abad-Santos from the theatlanticwire.com reports a recent interview:
If not everyone believes the rape happened, aren't the town's football allegiances going to get in the way of a fair trial?
Well, yes, there's this from the Times report: "the county prosecutor and the judge in charge of handling crimes by juveniles recused themselves from the case because they had ties to the football team."
Wait, is this some sort of cover-up?
Well, that's why the hacktivist collective known as Anonymous — and, more specifically, one of its cells known as Knightsec — got involved. The hackers, and their partners at the site Local Leaks, are "giving a voice to the victim of this horrible crime" by rounding up new information that the police haven't been able to — or at least that hasn't been made publicly available in advance of next month's trial. They seem to believe that there are more people involved, that there are more victims, that the accused are getting special treatment because they are football players, and that there's a bigger group of boys involved, which Anonymous has dubbed the "Rape Crew." Oh, and they've set up Occupy Steubenville protests too.
And all this denial continues even after video footage has been leaked showing pretty obvious admission of guilt. This is just disgusting.
